Author Guidelines

Journal of Fisheries and Marine Research is dedicated to publish highest quality research papers and review on all aspects of fisheries and marine science which has not been previously published (either in whole or in part) and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscripts could be written either in Bahasa Indonesia or in English, abstract should be provided in both languages including title for Indonesian Contributor and only in English for non Indonesian Contributor. The manuscripts should be submitted through open journal system of Journal of Fisheries and Marine Research. Journal of Fisheries and Marine Research uses blind reviewing system by at least two reviewers.

Author must submit the manuscript in according to the journal template and filling the form inside the template file provided at the home page of the website.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Manuscript should present an original and important finding of research in fisheries and marine research. Only limited number of review paper which has significant contribution will be published.

Manuscript Format

Manuscript should be written in 11 point Times New Roman font single space in A4 paper with 3 cm left and top margin and 2,5 cm for the other two margins. Total length of the manuscript is no more than 15 pages with minimum total word of 4000 and maximum 7000 word in one manuscript excluding the completion form. Detail information regarding template are provided in the website For Indonesian author and also for Non Indonesian Author. For soft copies, we only accept in microsoft word (.doc or .docx) saved in virus free file.

Manuscript should be written in the following order :

TITLE (in Indonesian and English, title only in English if you are non Indonesian Contributor)

Author(s) full name;

Author(s) full address or affiliation;

Data: E-mail of all the author(s) must be included not in the article but in submission information;

E-mail of correspondence author

Abstract;

Key words;

Introduction;

Materials and Methods;

Results and Discussion;

Conclusion;

Acknowledgment;

References;

For manuscript written in Bahasa Indonesia should follow similar arrangement.

TITLE
Title should be focus and as informative as possible.
Authors should provide title in Indonesian and English (For Indonesian author) and in English (For Non Indonesian Contibutor).

Author Data

Author(s) full name (no abbreviation), affiliation and also correspondence author.

Abstract

Abstract should be no more than 300 words, to summarize the principal points of the study without reference to the body of the paper. It contains short sentences of introduction, aim of the study, methods, and conclusion. The abstract does not contain references, figures, tables, abbreviation, or acronym. Please provide abstract in Indonesia and English (For Indonesian Author and only in English (for non Indonesian author).

Key words: 3-5 words, separated with comma. Key words have to be closely related to the research

INTRODUCTION
Introduction should provide sufficient background information of the research to evaluate the results of the research, but an extensive review of the literature is not needed and in general, no exceed one typed page. The introduction also gives the rationale for and objectives of the study that is being reported and their relationship to earlier work in the field.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

In this section, author(s) should provide sufficient information to allow another qualified researcher to repeat the experiments that are described in the paper. If the method is categorized as new procedures or refers to published paper which was not readily available for most readers, details methodology should be provided. If any modification being made, then it should be described clearly. Previously published procedures should be cited. The authors should also mentioned scientific name, number of samples and the location of sampling. Sources (company, city, state, or country) of unusual chemicals, bacterial strains, reagents, and equipment must be clearly stated. For those who work with satellite images, please also provide collected ground check data.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Results and discussion should not be separated. State the obtained results based on the used methods. Avoid presentation of raw data as well as double presentation (e.g. table and graph). Every means value of the data should be given standard deviation. All data given in result should be presented in the tables or graph, although some results may be given solely in the text.

Discussion can be done by comparing results/data reported with other research results previously published. It should be focused on the results interpretation rather than repetition of the results.

CONCLUSION

Based on the findings and discussion, conclusion should be clearly stated. It should be written as paragraph, not as a list.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.
In this section, author(s) should mention the grant source (Institution as well as year of the contract) and the person to whom the grant was given. Acknowledgement should also be given to those (individual/company/institution) who has contributed to the study especially in  establishing research design, acquisition of data, supplying documents/photographs or analysis and interpretation of data, or who was involved in drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content. If the contribution of an individual quite significant, then he/she should be put as one of the author. Please refer to author(s) contribution form.

REFERENCES.
References only list the published or accepted material for publication. Accepted article(s) but not yet published should be sent as manuscript appendix. Referring website, personal communications, unpublished data should be incorporated in the text in parentheses. Personal communication need to be written with the initials surname of the source accompanied with the year of the statement, e.g., (Hoegh-Guldberg, 2011, personal communication). Authors should provide proof(s) of the communication such as email, etc.

References are recommended using reference management software i.e. Endnote or Mendeley or Zotero in IEEE numbering style. References should be listed at the end of the paper, and numbered in the order of their appearance in the text. Authors should ensure that every reference in the text appears in the list of references and vice versa. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given. Wikipedia, personal blog, or non-scientific website is not allowed to be taken into account. Primary references should be at least 80% from at least ten references. References should be taken from the late ten years.

TABLES

All tables should be numbered with Arabic numeric. Headings should be placed above tables, left justified. Leave one line space between the heading and the table. Only horizontal lines should be used within a table, to distinguish the column headings from the body of the table, and immediately above and below the table. Tables must be embedded into the text and not supplied separately. Numbers and legend of the table should be written in 9 point Times New Roman font.

FIGURES

All figures should be numbered with Arabic numeric. Figures or photographs should be in very good quality (at least 300 dpi) and ready to print. In the case of figures containing multiple components (for example Figure 1A, 1B, 1C, etc.) should be mounted together. Figures must be embedded into the text and not supplied separately. Lettering and symbols should be clearly defined either in the caption or in a legend provided as part of the figure. Figures should be placed at the top or bottom of a page wherever possible. Figures and photographs can be printed in color, but there is an additional cost to the author. Numbers and legend are written in 9 point of Times New Roman font.

Math formulae

Math formulae should follow equation standard as well as Microsoft word.

Equations and formulae should be typed and numbered consecutively with Arabic numeric in parentheses on the center of the page
